Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can is a 2002 comedy-drama crime film based on the life of Frank Abagnale Jr., who, before his 19th birthday, successfully conned millions of dollars by posing as a Pan American World Airways pilot, a Georgia doctor and Louisiana attorney and parish prosecutor. His primary crime was check forgery, becoming so skillful that the FBI eventually turned to him for help. Steven Spielberg directed the film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Abagnale, as well as Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Amy Adams, Martin Sheen, and Nathalie Baye.

Development for the film started as far back as 1980. With the beginning of the 21st century, filmmakers such as David Fincher, Gore Verbinski, Lasse Hallström, Miloš Forman and Cameron Crowe were at one point involved with Catch Me if You Can. Spielberg (who was originally involved as producer) decided to become the project's director, dropping out of Big Fish and Memoirs of a Geisha. Filming took place from February to May 2002. Catch Me If You Can received financial and critical success, and the real Abagnale greeted the film positively.

Frank Abagnale Jr, 16 years old, lives happily in 1964 New Rochelle, New York with his father Frank Abagnale Sr and French mother Paula. When a loan for Frank Sr. is denied at Chase Manhattan Bank, due to a series of IRS tax frauds by Frank Sr, the family is forced to move from their grand home to a small apartment. Paula carries on an affair with Jack, a friend of her husband. In the meantime, Frank poses as a substitute teacher in his French class. Shortly, Frank's parents file for divorce, and Frank, scared, runs away. When he runs out of money, he begins to use confidence scams. Frank's cons grow ever bolder and he even impersonates an airline pilot. He forges Lufthansa & Pan Am payroll checks and succeeds in stealing more than $2.8 million.

Meanwhile Carl Hanratty, an FBI bank fraud agent, begins to track down Frank with little help from his superiors. Carl and Frank meet in a hotel, where Frank convinces Carl his name is Barry Allen of the Secret Service. Frank leaves, with Carl angrily fooled. Later, at Christmas, Carl is still working when Frank calls him, attempting to apologize for duping Carl. Carl rejects his apology and tells him that he will soon be caught, but laughs when he realizes that Frank actually called him because he has no one else to talk to. Frank hangs up, and Carl continues to investigate. At a restaurant, a waiter points out to Carl that Frank's false name, "Barry Allen," is from The Flash comic books. Carl then realizes that Frank is probably a teenager.

Frank, meanwhile, has not only switched to becoming a doctor and a Louisiana lawyer, but has also fallen in love with a girl named Brenda. Carl tracks him to his engagement party where Frank admits the truth about himself to Brenda and asks her to run away with him. As he escapes, he asks Brenda to meet him in two days so they can elope. At the Miami International Airport, Frank sees her waiting as agreed, but he spots FBI agents everywhere and realizes that he has been set up (with Brenda as the bait) and posing as a representative for Pan-Am, goes to a nearby girl's college to "recruit" girls to be "stewardesses-in-training," and returns to the airport the next day, using the girls that he recruits as a distraction to the FBI agents, making his escape to Europe.

Seven months later, Carl shows his boss that Frank has been forging checks all over the world and that he is out of control. He wants permission to fly to Europe to look for him. When his boss denies him the permission, Carl takes Frank’s checks to professional printers who deem that they were printed in France. Remembering that Frank’s mother, Paula, was born in Montrichard, France, Carl goes there where he finds Frank. He tells him the French police will kill him if he does not go with Carl quietly. Frank assumes he is joking, but Carl assures Frank he would never lie to him, and Carl takes him outside, where the French police escort him to prison. Carl promises to have him extradited to the U.S.

The scene then flashes forward to a plane returning Frank to the U.S. from France. Carl informs him that his father has died. Consumed with grief, Frank escapes through the bathroom plumbing and out the landing gear when the plane lands in New York. He goes back to his old house, where he sees his mother and Jack Barnes, as well as a little girl that Frank realizes is his half-sister. Frank gives up and is sentenced to prison, getting occasional visits from Carl. When Frank easily points out how one of the checks Carl is carrying as evidence is fake, Carl gets an idea and calls for an interview with the FBI. At the interview, the FBI informs Frank that he can serve out the remainder of his sentence working in the FBI's bank fraud department, under Carl’s custody, to which Frank accepts. Though somewhat content, Frank still misses the thrill of the chase and attempts to be a pilot again. Carl catches him, but lets him fly anyway, remarking "sometimes it's easier living the lie," and says he knows Frank will be back, as no-one is chasing him.

On Monday, though delayed, Frank does return, and finally reveals to Carl that not all of his careers were cons—Frank passed the Louisiana Bar exam by studying for it for two weeks. The epilogue shows that Frank is happily married with three sons, lives in the Midwest, and is still good friends with Carl. Frank has helped catch some of the world's most elusive money forgers and earns millions creating unforgeable checks.

The Covenant Film

The Covenant is a 2006 supernatural thriller film directed by Renny Harlin and written by J. S. Cardone.

In 1692, in the Ipswich Colony of Massachusetts, five families with magical abilities, referred to as "the Power", form a covenant of silence to protect themselves from persecution. Four of the five bloodlines survive to this day; one family, lusting for more power, was banished, their bloodline disappearing without a trace until now.

The Covenant tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students at the elite Spenser Academy who are bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families that settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600s, the boys have all been given amazing supernatural powers.

But their ability to shape-shift, defy gravity and perform superhuman feats of strength comes at a terrible cost: every time one of the Sons of Ipswich uses his magical powers, he ages prematurely, and the temptation to abuse the power makes it more addictive than any drug. What's more, life is only going to get harder for the young friends; at the moment each boy turns 18, he will "ascend," gaining far more potent—and addictive—powers.

With Caleb's birthday just a few days away, his mother Evelyn (Wendy Crewson) is terrified her son will find it impossible to resist the lure of power like his father before him. Caleb assures her he'll be able to handle his new abilities. But will he really? And what if he needs his power to fight an evil force that threatens everything he loves?

As the new school year begins at Spenser Academy, students have gathered for a wild outdoor party to mark the end of summer. Hundreds of feet above the gyrating bodies, Caleb Danvers (Steven Strait) and his three best friends - Pogue Parry (Taylor Kitsch), Reid Garwin (Toby Hemingway) and Tyler Simms (Chace Crawford) walk to the edge of a dizzying precipice and drop unseen and unscathed before casually joining the fray. At the party, gorgeous newcomer Sarah Wenham (Laura Ramsey) is introduced to the boys by her equally stunning roommate Kate (Jessica Lucas). The girls also meet an intriguing transfer student named Chase Collins (Sebastian Stan), who quickly ingratiates himself into the group.

When the police arrive to disperse the partiers, they discover the body of a student, dead of an apparent drug overdose. The school headmaster (Kenneth Welsh) immediately suspects Caleb and his friends are somehow involved. Meanwhile, as Sarah, a former Boston public-school student, tries to adjust to dorm life at the elite prep school, she can't shake the creepy feeling that someone—or something—is watching her every move.

Unaware of the danger that lies ahead, Caleb continues life, as normal as possible, until danger finally starts showing and it's up to Caleb and his friends to figure out what's going on, before it's too late.

Hidalgo Film

Hidalgo is a 2004 film based on the life and tales of former horse rider Frank Hopkins and his endurance horse Hidalgo, a mustang. The movie was written by John Fusco and directed by Joe Johnston. It stars Viggo Mortensen, Zuleikha Robinson and Omar Sharif.

The film was a box office failure, critical responses were mixed and Hidalgo was somewhat controversial due to debate over the accuracy of Hopkins's claims.

Held annually for centuries, the Ocean of Fire - a three thousand mile survival race across the Arabian desert - was a challenge restricted to the finest Arabian horses ever bred of the purest and noblest lines and owned by the greatest royal families. In 1897, a wealthy sheikh, Sheikh Riyadh (Omar Sharif), invited an American, Frank T. Hopkins (Viggo Mortensen), and his mustang horse to enter the race for the first time. During the course of his career, Hopkins had been a cowboy and dispatch rider for the United States of America (U.S.) government. In this capacity he had carried a message to the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment, authorizing what became known as the Wounded Knee Massacre. While working as a stunt rider in Buffalo Bill's Wild West shows, Hopkins is advertised as the greatest rider the West had ever known. The Sheikh puts this claim to the test, pitting the American cowboy and his mustang against the world's greatest Arabian horses and Bedouin riders, some of whom are determined to prevent a foreigner - and especially an "impure" horse - from finishing the race. For Hopkins, the Ocean of Fire becomes not only a matter of pride and honor, but a race for his very survival as he and his horse attempt the supposedly near-impossible desert crossing.

Throughout the story, there are many who attempt to kill Hopkins and Hidalgo. Chief adversaries include the wealthy, spoiled aristocrat Lady Anne Davenport, who owns a rival horse and is used to getting her own way, and the Sheikh's treacherous nephew, who wishes, contrary to his uncle's decree, to marry his cousin, the sheikh's daughter Jazirah (Zuleikha Robinson). A spirited girl and a horse-rider in her own right, who had been somewhat indulged by her father because his sons are deceased, she is rescued from raids by Hopkins and Hidalgo, whom she grows to trust. Eventually, Hopkins wins the race and travels home to America, later to buy many mustangs who had been sentenced to death by the Government. These he releases into the wild, allowing Hidalgo to go with them.

A recurring theme in the film is the fact that Hopkins' father was White American and his mother a member of the Native American Lakota tribe. The tribespeople refer to him as "Blue Child" or "Far Rider". As a half-breed, he feels sympathy and pity for his mother's people, who are being driven to extinction by the settlers. However, he does not generally reveal his heritage, especially after the Wounded Knee massacre for which he feels partly responsible. Jazirah, who has become his friend, compares her desire not to wear a veil with Hopkins' heritage; that he mustn't "go through life hiding what God made you.... like me." In the end, he casts in his lot with the tribal ways, singing a Lakota prayer to revive the injured and fatigued Hidalgo, and rides bareback for the final length of the race.

The Grudge 3

The Grudge 3 is the direct-to-DVD sequel to the American horror films The Grudge and its sequel, The Grudge 2. The film was directed by Toby Wilkins taking Takashi Shimizu's place. According to IMDb, filming took place in March 2008. The film was released on May 12, 2009.

The events of The Grudge 3 occur several days after the Chicago vignette of The Grudge 2. Jake Kimble, (Matthew Knight) the sole survivor, is now institutionalized after the gruesome murder of his family. His caretaker is Dr. Sullivan, who is skeptical of Jake's stories describing a woman with long black hair covered in blood as the murderer. Dr. Sullivan has to leave Jake in his room as she has to take care of the other patients. She reassures Jake by telling him that there is a security camera that will always be watching him. When she leaves, the lights start flickering, and Jake realizes that Kayako has come. He screams for help, but the security guard is too late as he sees Jake being flung around the room by an invisible force. When they arrive in the room, Jake is lying in a pool of blood. He has broken almost every bone in his body.

Kayako's sister, Naoko Kawamata, is a young Japanese woman who hears of Jake's death through the newspaper and becomes worried. Naoko knows how to end the curse and travels to Chicago, where the last incident linked with Kayako occurred. She is introduced to the Chicago apartment by Max, (Gil McKinney) the landlord, and immediately begins to feel her sister's presence. She meets Max's little sister, Rose, and she somehow knows that Rose is in touch with the dead and can communicate with Toshio, Naoko's nephew. She also meets Lisa (Johanna Braddy) and they quickly become friends, and they meet other residents of the apartment, including Gretchen, (Marina Sirtis) who is an artist. Lisa gets frightened when she realizes her younger sister Rose is seeing Toshio ,a dead boy all around the apartment. Later that day, Lisa encounters Toshio, who makes her jump. When asking him what he is doing in the apartment, Toshio vanishes leaving Lisa bewildered. A girl, who just moved away from the apartment complex due to the murders is pulled into her bathtub by Toshio and is drowned by the evil spirit of Takeo Saeki. At night, Gretchen is painting a beautiful picture of Rose but when she turns away she finds it almost shredded and in a pool of red paint. Whilst examining the painting of Rose, it briefly changes to a portrait of Kayako and handprints begin to appear in the red paint and move towards Gretchen. Then another of Gretchen's paintings begins to change and morph into Kayako who crawls towards Gretchen and kills her by gouging her eyes out and ripping off her jaw.

Lisa, Max's sister, hears about the curse from Naoko and realizes that the deaths in the Chicago apartment - including the death of Jake Kimble - are connected, and to this end she meets Dr. Ann Sullivan, (Shawnee Smith) who informs her of what she learns from Jake concerning a girl named Allison Fleming and a woman named Kayako Saeki, from Japan. Dr. Sullivan also informs Lisa that Toshio, the boy Rose has been seeing, is dead, and plays a video of one of her interviews with Jake, who tells Dr. Sullivan that Kayako is sitting right in between them constantly. Lisa eventually returns to the apartment. Dr. Sullivan examines further evidence and then goes down the corridor out of her office because she sees Toshio on the monitor. Everything seems normal for a few brief seconds until Kayako appears in the hallway. Dr. Sullivan exits via the other door in the corridor, only to have Kayako appear before her in the corridor she is now in. Dr. Sullivan screams for help and knocks repeatedly on the door, but meanwhile Kayako is catching up. Kayako literally walks through the door opposite and Dr. Sullivan feels Kayako's fingers go through her hair and touch the side of her face as she screams for the cleaner to open the door, and then suddenly Kayako seizes Dr. Ann Sullivan's head and snaps her neck, splattering blood against the window.

Later that evening, Lisa invites her boyfriend Andy (Beau Mirchoff) out to supper, and there she discusses the Saeki murders and her theory that the vengeful ghosts are in her apartment. Andy dismisses her ideas initially, saying one only make connections one wishes to see, and persuades Lisa to come to New York with him, but Lisa refuses. Andy returns with Lisa to the apartment, and later when he leaves he sees the lights flickering and Toshio's legs run upstairs. He follows Toshio to a black hallway and sees Toshio run before him in the gloom. When Andy flicks on the light switch, Kayako appears behind him as the door slams shut to the sound of her.

Later, Max shows signs of possession and becomes violent and aggressive. He viciously attacks his superior when he is fired, and later his superior is killed by Toshio Saeki in his car. Max kicks out Lisa after taking out his rage on her, and then he also pushes Rose aside and tells her to go to her room. Lisa, frightened, goes to Naoko for help and Naoko realizes what has happened to Max. She dresses in a classic Japanese ritual garb and begins to perform an exorcism on the building using Rose as a witness, but halfway through Naoko tells Lisa that Rose has to drink Kayako's blood, which she somehow has obtained. Naoko begs Rose to drink it, claiming that "the bad will go away". Lisa stupidly refuses to have anything to do with this ritual, and begins to leave, only to find her path blocked by Max. Max has been possessed by the evil spirit of Takeo Saeki, and he is now out to repeat the same murder he performed on Kayako. He pursues Naoko into the hallway, and when Naoko attempts to reason with him, he breaks her leg. Naoko attempts to crawl away but Max seizes a knife, grabs Naoko by her long black hair, and thrusts the blade into her throat. Kayako pursues Lisa and Rose through the upper story of the apartment. Lisa and Rose run into the bathroom and find the corpse of her boyfriend Andy, but when she grasps it, Andy becomes Kayako and attempts to strangle her. Rose is thrown out of the bathroom and the door locks Lisa in. Lisa backs away as Kayako crawls towards her. Rose drinks Kayako's blood and Kayako's evil spirit vanishes. Takeo is exorcised from Max, who is horrified at what he has done. When he is sitting, immersed in remorse and guilt, in the apartment's corridor, noises come from the other end of the corridor. The source of the noises is revealed to be Naoko's spirit, stumbling on her broken leg while her throat gushes blood. Naoko has appeared as the new Onryo born from the new Grudge caused by Max. She crawls up to Max and kills him.

The final scene is of police and doctors removing the corpses and Lisa telling Rose that everything will be alright. However, as she hugs her, the final image is that of Kayako hugging Lisa instead of Rose, revealing that Rose now carries the spirits.

'The Grudge 3', Kayako hatred Ending

Cast: Johanna Braddy, Shawnee Smith, Emi Ikahata, Beau Mirchoff, Gil McKinney, Matthew Knight, Jadie Hobson...

Naoko was then preparing for a ritual that is said to get rid of the ghost Kayako and Toshio. But to complete this ritual, there must be willing to drink the blood of Kayako and to find someone that is not easy work.

The emergence of the first part of The Grudge series may still be understood because at the time Hollywood's longer recycle fever Asian films. But to make it up into three parts probably already beginning to feel no sense. Not what but there's nothing more to offer than this film. The Grudge 2 alone was felt saturate especially with the emergence of this third part.

As might be expected, the third part is also still about around the curious spirit of revenge which has now been moved from Japan to America. Trick 'to frighten' Asian way as in the first and second part seemed to have started no longer effective. What's worse, the story idea was imposed as may be made only to see the continuation and ending of this movie, seems to still be no more The Grudge 4.

Perhaps the main weakness of this film is the story of losing focus. Generally, the film follows the contours of the story is always one or two of the stars (except in special cases such as CRASH). In The Grudge 3 is seen that the audience is not directed to follow the specific figures. Flow like jumping from one character to another character, or maybe the director was more interested in character and not the spirit curious human figures become victims.

But if the spirit is the central figure curious title The Grudge then seemed to be less accurate because the dictionary word meaning hatred Grudge, which means it could only happen to people who never interacted before. In fact, the spirit of this curious already started killing people for no apparent reason. It's certainly not because of revenge because they had never interacted before.

The Grudge 3: Terror Kayako Not Stop

Jake Kimble (Matthew Knight) is the only survivor of the attack of evil spirits Kayako and Toshio when his family murdered. Because mental disturbed, Jake became a mental hospital inmates.

Until now, he still fears of terror Kayako. He had complained to the doctor Ann Sullivan (Shawnee Smith) and ask always didampinginya. Unfortunately, Ann Jake ignored the request. And it is true, go to Jake and Kayako revoke his life.

In other parts of the world, in Japan, Naoko Kawamata (Emi Ikehata) awakens from a nightmare for the umpteenth time. One time through the newspaper, Naoko is none other than sister knows Kayako Jake's death. Naoko was worried Kayako has not stopped the terror.

Not wanting to appear the victim again, Naoko intend to visited an apartment in Chicago, United States. He believed that the apartment is now on guard Max (Gil McKinney) and her two children were still Kayako mystery.

Can Naoko save Max and stop the terror Kayako? Now, find the answer in 'The Grudge 3'.

The title 'The Grudge' certainly not foreign in your ear. 'The Grudge' is a remake of Japanese horror movies is booming, 'Ju-On'. But unlike the previous film, 'The Grudge 3' is not the remake. Film filmed 'Toby Wilkins' story presents a different and more reference to 'The Grudge 2'.

'The Grudge 3' is still showing the dark and eerie atmosphere. Except this movie is not berbujet low sesadis two previous films. But on the whole 'The Grudge 3' could tear apart your adrenaline.

FBI Special Agent Ellen "E. Z." Williams (Claudia Christian) and her team show up to nail Nick, but things go bad, and Sascha gets shot.

After eight months of recovery following his brief bout of being clinically dead from the shooting, Sascha is incarcerated along with Nick in the newly reopened Alcatraz prison.
Sascha Petrosevitch (Steven Seagal) and Nick Frazier (Ja Rule).

Run by the charismatic warden, Juan Ruiz "El Fuego" Escarzaga (Tony Plana), the place is known for its new state of the art death chamber where the condemned can choose from five different ways to die -- lethal injection, gas chamber, hanging, firing squad, or electric chair.

Lester McKenna (Bruce Weitz) is the first prisoner scheduled to be executed. An older man, he stole $200,000,000 worth of gold bricks in a heist that resulted in five deaths.

Federal Bureau of Prisons head Frank Hubbard (Stephen J. Cannell) and Supreme Court Justice June McPherson (Linda Thorson) have arrived to witness the execution, which is a result of June sentencing Lester.

But she's not the only one interested in Lester. A small but well-equipped team of terrorists who call themselves the "49ers" have parachuted onto the island, and gained control of it.

Led by 49er One, a.k.a. Hubbard's assistant Donny Johnson (Morris Chestnut), and 49er Six (Nia Peeples), the team finds Lester, and they want him to give up the location of his hidden stash of gold.

When Lester won't tell them, Donny shoots a nearby priest (Eva-Maria Schönecker), and threatens to kill others if the info isn't delivered.

Donny's plan is disrupted, however, when Sascha decides to step in and fight back. It turns out that Sascha is actually an undercover FBI agent who's been trying to use Nick to get to Sonny Eckvall.

When Sascha rescues Lester, the 49ers strap June to the electric chair and threaten to kill her, all while Ellen and her team prepare a rescue plan from the mainland.

With the help of Nick and some of the other inmates such as Twitch (Ricardo "Kurupt" Brown) and Little Joe (Michael "Bear" Taliferro), Sascha sets out to rescue June and bring Donny down, before Alcatraz becomes everyone's final resting place.

Black Swarm Film

Deputy Sheriff Jane Kozik and daughter Kelsey Kozik have returned to Jane’s childhood home town of Black Stone. This is brought about after the death of Kelsey’s father who was killed removing a bee hive from a local homeowner. Black Stone is described as being a sleepy little town where everyone knows each other. The town’s slogan is even “The Township of Good Neighbors.” Unfortunately, unbeknownst to the quaint little town they are about to have a few hundred thousand more neighbors when a swarm of genetically enhanced bees take refuge in the quaint little township.

The genetically enhanced bees come from a failed secret military experiment operated by local townsman Eli, played by actor Robert Englund, most famous for portraying the knife gloved ghost killer Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street films.

Unlike normal bees, Eli’s bees do not maintain a solitary nest, instead they are able to switch from nest to nest including taking refuge in within a human host. Once the bees have begun to nest within in the human hosts, the humans become drone like, like many of the worker bees, almost zombie like. The bees can cause the humanoid drones to due their bidding, including attacking and killing other people.

This creates quite the panic as several of the townspeople begin to die as a result, causing the need of a special entomologist to be called in to consult on the case.

Very soon Deputy Sheriff Jane Kozik and Jane’s brother-in-law and identical twin to her recently deceased husband, Devlin begin to chip away at the government conspiracy, discovering Eli’s secret and who he has been working for. Eli, meanwhile, has been wracking his brain trying to figure out what happened to his swarm when he begins to realize that the old tricks, including a dog whistle, and pheromone enhanced peaches just are not working any more in calming the bees down. Meanwhile, even more trouble arises for Eli and Jane when Kelsey unwittingly eats one of the enhanced peaches causing the swarm to revere Kelsey as the new queen bee, and the swarm will do anything to protect its queen.

Black Swarm is less flat out horror film and more of a nature anomaly sort of film. The tension usually felt in a horror film is absent in Black Swarm. It is not your typical flee or face certain death film in that sense, although there is certainly plenty of instances in the film. However, the film seems more like a social commentary on what could potentially happen, albeit in a hyperbole sort of way, if we as humans continue to genetically alter nature.

Black Swarm does seem to struggle quite a bit in the plot area. It lacks focus and tries too hard to inject the film with heart creating the sordid past between Jane and Devlin and the forced plot twists in the subplot. The film certainly could have used a lot more Robert Englund too who is the only really fun and interesting character in the film.

Half Past Dead 2

Half Past Dead 2 is a 2007 action movie about a long time inmate Twitch (Kurupt) who gets himself transferred to a tougher prison than the re-opened Alcatraz. He claims it's to be closer to his lady but his real motives are a bit more grandiose. There he crosses paths with Burke (Bill Goldberg) a bulky prisoner who can take care of himself. Twitch, despite being less muscular, is just as mouthy and is pretty much the same. But there is a gang war brewing between the Black and Hispanic inmates that explodes into a hostile takeover of the prison when the Blacks' gang leader is shot dead and the finger points at Burke. But the situations worsens when the real killer and leader of the hispanics, Cortez (Robert Madrid) takes Twitch's girlfriend(Angell Conwell) and Burke's daughter(Alona Tal) hostage as well betraying his comrades to escape.

The main title for Half Past Dead 2 "Day By Day" was written and performed by R&B artist Redd Stylez.
